The flagship model of Yamaha concert bass drums, the 9000 Series incorporates a deep maple shell. This series produces a deep, rich sound with exceptional projection due to its 7-ply maple shell with a dark wood stain finish. The addition of steel hoops allows for precise and stable tuning to ensure a perfect sound that lasts. This drum comes equipped with REMO NuSkyn Heads. Sound design and quality were the top two drivers for the Yamaha product designers. An anti-rotational slip measure on the stand, new noise control features on lug casings and tension rods, and a maple shell truly make this concert bass drum an instrument that will be the only choice for professional percussionists.
Available for this series is an improved bass drum stand, the BS-9036 along with accessories such as wraps and covers made of Cordura, sold separately. The new stand features the Yamaha Hex Rack style locking mechanism with an improved rotational mechanism allowing the drum to lock into one playing position. This new system enables the drum to have a firm grasp at any angle. This series will not work with the T-CBASS Tough-Terrain Frame stand.

Solid Steel HoopSince the distortion is much less than that of a wooden hoop, the tension from each tension rod can be applied evenly to the head around the drum. It produces a deep sound with a core that cannot be obtained with a wooden hoop, and it is relatively easy to tune allowing the player to install a calfskin head if desired. |

Tension RodsA newly designed collar is built into the tuning rod to prevent noise and realize a smooth operation feeling when tuning. This allows each tension rod to have a smooth motion which reduces stress during the tuning process. |
