Werner Tomasi’s musical journey began at just six years old and led him to the prestigious University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna where he continued his flute studies with Professor Gisler-Haase. Since 1986, Tomasi has completed a number of research projects with the Institute for Viennese Sound Style, all focused on flute construction and sound quality — a craft Tomasi came to admire. As a result, the Tomasi brand was born. Even today, Tomasi flutes are known for their unique construction, with parts often made from a range of materials including gold, grenadilla, olive wood, silver, nickel silver, and silver light.
