Steve Hanson:
Guitar, Banjo & Bass

"Hi, I'm Steve Hanson, for SM
Hanson Music. Have you ever
wished you could play guitar?"
Steve coined those phrases 38
years ago, and they are still
used today. Over the years, he
has developed the special and
very successful methods that
SM Hanson Music uses today.
As director of SM Hanson
Music, Steve has written
numerous methods and set the
standards for education in
Guitar, Bass and Banjo. He is a
past director of education for
NAMM (National Association of
Music Merchants), Steve is still
very active in writing methods,
teaching, performing, and
production of "Festival Jam"
(opening night of the Smoky
Hill River Festival). 2010 is the
25th anniversary of this event

Ryan McClintock:
Sales, Guitar Technician and
Private Guitar and Bass
Instructor

Ryan has been with S.M.
Hanson Music, Inc for 12 yrs.
His expertise in instruction,
guitar repair and product
knowledge has made him an
invaluable asset to our sales
team. He is also a Private
Guitar Instructor here at S. M.
Hanson Music, Inc. Many of
his students are in working
bands and continue their music
education Ryan earned his
Bachelors Degree in Music at
Bethany College and has been
a Guitar Instructor for over 10
yrs. He is also a Professional
Musician, currently playing
lead guitar for the band 4N.
Ryan states, “ I enjoy watching
my young students mature
into great musicians! I also
enjoy when I have helped
someone get exactly what they
need or want, knowing that
they are leaving the store
happy!”

Austin Riddle:
Private Guitar Instructor

Austin started taking guitar
lessons almost 4 years ago
and is now a Private Instructor
here at S. M. Hanson Music,
Inc.
He teaches students whose
ages are between 8 and 13.
Austin states, “Seeing the
excitement in the kids as they
learn new things! I really like
to see their progression!”

Dean Kranzler:
Private Percussion Instructor
and Percussion Product
Specialist

Dean has been a Private
Percussion Instructor and
Percussion Product Specialist
at S.M. Hanson Music for over
32 yrs. He is the Percussion
Instructor at FHSU, Bethany
College, and KWU, an Adjunct
Percussion Instructor for Tabor
College and Bethel College,
and a Percussion Consultant/
Drum line Instructor for
Salina South and Salina
Central High Schools. Dean
has been a staff member of the
High Plains Band Camp since
1983. Dean holds a Bachelor of
Music Education and a Master
of Music degree. He is a
member of the National
Association of College Wind
and Percussion Instructors,
Percussion Arts Society and a
Member of the Salina
Symphony. Dean also performs
regularly with Salina
Symphony, Acme Fife
and Drum Ensemble, the
Blades and Jazz Tangent and
the Crossroads Church Band.
Professional memberships
include NACWPI, Kansas
Music Educators Association
and Percussive Arts Society.

Nathan Rieff:
Sales, Guitar Technician and
Private Instructor

Nathan has been with S.M.
Hanson Music, Inc for
about 2 and a half years. He
started out as a Private Guitar
Instructor and joined the Sales
Team in Nov. 2008.
Nathan has been playing the
guitar for over five years; this
has given him an intimate
understanding of the ‘whole
guitar’ experience. From
guitar maintenance and repair
to making sure that the S.M.
Hanson Music customer
purchases the right guitar for
optimum playing enjoyment.
Nathan states, “Whether it’s a
student or a customer, I get
great joy in seeing them play
and grow in their talent!”
